Monarchs Partner With KCTV 5, KSMO For Home Game Broadcasts

Every Monarchs home game will be available
free over the air in Kansas City, Wichita and Topeka

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Every Kansas City Monarchs home game in the 2025 season will be free to watch on over-the-air television with no paywall, blackouts or account info required.

The four-time league champion Monarchs have partnered with Gray Television and KCTV 5 to broadcast every Monarchs Home game on KSMO Channel 62 in Kansas City.

Fans can also watch Monarchs baseball for free on KSMO’s sister stations in Wichita and Topeka, Kansas. WIBW-TV in Topeka will broadcast the games on channel 13.6.  In Wichita, KWCH-TV will air the games on channel 12.4.

The agreement includes broadcasts for the Monarchs’ 50 regular-season home games and additional home playoff games.

The deal marks a return to live baseball for KSMO, the broadcast home of the Kansas City Royals from 1990 to 1995.

Every Monarchs home game will be available to stream on the KCTV5 app. Fans can use the KCTV5 app on any device, including computers, smartphones and connected TVs.

Carter Woodiel returns for his third season as Voice of the Monarchs and will have the play-by-play call for all Monarchs game broadcasts in 2025.

Fireworks Fridays Are Back At Kansas City Monarchs Games

Every Friday home game will feature a spectacular postgame display, including on Opening Night and the Fourth of July

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – One of minor league baseball’s most cherished traditions is returning to Legends Field.

Fireworks Fridays are back at Kansas City Monarchs games in 2025!

Every Friday Monarchs home game all season long will feature a spectacular postgame fireworks display, plus back-to-back displays on July 4 and 5.

Fans can lock in their seats to catch the shows by purchasing a six or 12-game pack at Tickets.MonarchsBaseball.com or by calling 913-328-5618.

The schedule includes 10 fireworks nights in all, including Opening Night on May 9th and the Fourth of July.

Monarchs Season Opener Set For May 9, 2025

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kansas City Monarchs baseball returns Friday, May 9.

That’s the date of the Monarchs’ 2025 home opener, confirmed Monday with the release of the club’s schedule for the upcoming season.

The four-time league champions will open the season at home for the first time since 2022, taking on the Lincoln Saltdogs from Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas.

The schedule also features home games on July 4 and 5, as well as Labor Day. The Monarchs will host Fourth of July at Legends Field for the first time since 2023.

Fans can lock in their seats for Monarchs baseball in 2025 with a season ticket package. Season tickets are on sale with tickets available for 25-40% off face value through December 13. Call the Monarchs at 913-328-5618 for more information.

May 9 will be the first of 50 home games for the Monarchs in 2025, including 27 weekend matchups (Friday-Sunday).

Kansas City is aiming for its second title in three years in the 12-team American Association of Professional Baseball.

10 of the Monarchs’ 11 league mates will make a trip to Legends Field in 2025, including all five of the Monarchs’ opponents in the West Division.

The road portion of the Monarchs’ schedule features over 10,000 miles of travel, including trips to Canada, Chicago and Texas. Kansas City’s longest road trip of the season stretches from South Dakota to Milwaukee to the Chicago suburbs August 8-17.
