The 25-year-old has played as high as Triple-A with the Red Sox organization. Boston picked him 43rd overall in 2019 out of the University of Arizona.
Cannon was a Baseball America first-team All-American with the Wildcats his junior year in 2019, when he was teammates with fellow Monarchs infielder Justin Wylie.
The righty hitter earned Pac-12 All-Conference honors that year, hitting .397 with a 1.129 OPS, 29 doubles, eight home runs and 56 RBIs in 56 games.
The Glendale, Arizona native also teamed up with current Monarch Cody Deason with the Wildcats in 2017 and 2018.
