THOMPSON TO KANSAS CITY

The Kansas City Monarchs announced this morning the signing of right-handed hitter, David Thompson. Thompson plays both third base and first base. In 2021 he was in Syracuse–the AAA affiliate of the New York Mets–and hit .228 with 39 RBI and 13 home runs with 10 stolen bases. He also won the Minor League Baseball Organizational All-Star award for his time with the Mets in 2021. During the winter season, he was with Tigres del Licey.

Thompson was drafted in the 4th round of the 2015 draft by the New York Mets (also drafted out of high school but ultimately did not sign to attend the University of Miami)

Welcome to Kansas City, David Thompson!
